Description

Mission Beach is the narrow strip of land between Mission
Bay and the Ocean. There is about 6 miles of "boardwalk"
running the perimeter of the area. Other than being completely
flat, it offers a beach view for it's entire length. The beach
isn't the only thing to view since the area attracts volleyball
players, surfers, skateboarders, sunbathers and a host of bodies
to die for. Officially, Mission Beach starts at Pacific Beach
Dr. and goes south. The boardwalk, however, extends further
north into Pacific Beach til it begins to reach La Jolla. The
Map location is for Belmont Park, at the roller coaster, in
the heart of Mission Beach |

Description
|
Ocean Beach to Sunset Cliffs is a short but scenic
tour of the rugged cliffs that face the Ocean off Point Loma.
It is relatively flat with a few rolling hills. The route takes
you through the beach community streets and along the cliifs
to the south. Follow Sunset Cliffs Blvd for the most direct
route or meander through the streets of Ocean Beach on your
way south. If you get really ambitious, you can climb Hill St.
east to Catalina Blvd and then go south again past Point Loma
Nazarene College on your way to the Cabrillo Monument. The Run
Start Map points to Robb Field, a park at the north end of Ocean
Beach with ample parking |

Description
|
Silver Strand State Beach is a long flat endless stretch
of beach running from Coronado to Imperial Beach. As an out
and back it is about 12 miles in length. There is boardwalk
to run or you can run the usually flat beach for the entire
distance. Other than sand and sea, you can watch the Navy maneuver
off shore since many training facilities are located adjacent
to the strand. Our run start map points to Glorietta Bay Park,
on the Bay side but you can start anywhere along the strand |
